Trudy has visited a blossoming business in Millom as part of British Flower Week.
Trudy spent time with Graham and Jane Bradley, of Market Street Bedding Plants, to learn about their business venture and enjoy the beautiful flowers and plants on display.
What began as a small plant-stall, started by Mrs Bradley as a hobby back in 2014, has grown into a popular family business offering a personal service, and whose displays and hanging baskets can be found across Millom, including at schools, Lapstone House, and at the cenotaph.
Trudy said: “It’s clear that the venture is a labour of love for Graham and Jane, with Graham’s sisters Diane Vernon and Wendy Craik working alongside them. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and visiting their wonderful garden centre.
“I was fascinated to learn that Graham, in his lengthy forestry career, has planted over 2.5 million trees across Northern England – including over one million in the Yorkshire Dales alone - and as a keen gardener myself, I took the opportunity to pick his brain and benefit from some expert advice for my own displays!”
