Trudy is supporting the roll-out of a new car rental scheme in the constituency.
Trudy visited Enterprise Rent-a-Car’s Whitehaven branch to learn more about the firm’s Car Club scheme, which offers members a range of fuel-efficient, hybrid and electric vehicles for rent 24-hours-a-day.
Cars and vans are rented from a central hub, which can be located, for example, on a convenient street, train station, car park or near a place of employment or study. Vehicles are booked and then unlocked remotely using an app or by phone, and can be hired from a minimum of 30 minutes up to as long as the user desires.
Trudy said: “I am very supportive of Enterprise’s Car Club scheme. By offering drivers the chance to hire a fuel-efficient vehicle at their convenience, it offers a viable alternative to car ownership for many in terms of net-zero and to help with cost of living.
“The beauty of this scheme is that vehicles can be hired for as little time as a single journey or up to a full day or longer, or for reserved in advance, for example, as a weekly booking for someone who has a recurring appointment.”
Enterprise has successful Car Club hubs running all over the UK. The nearest hub to Copeland is currently at Workington Police Station, and Trudy is assisting Enterprise by identifying potential new locations in the constituency.
