Trudy has enjoyed a demonstration of the benefits of electric bikes during English Tourism Week.
Trudy met with the team from Cyclewise at their depot in Whinlatter, and joined them on an e-bike for a scenic forest trail.
Trudy was joined for the discussions by Cyclewise’s Directors Rich Martin, Sue Martin and Amy Scott, and Mandy Bailey from Active Cumbria, as they spoke about the popularity of e-bikes – both for local people and those on cycling holidays – and the organisations’ joint work to deliver Bikeability training in Cumbrian schools.
Trudy said: “I’d like to thank Cyclewise for a brilliant introduction to the benefits of e-bikes – especially for big hills!
“During English Tourism Week, it was fantastic to visit Whinlatter Forest to try out the trails and find out why there’s such a surge in adult bikeability.
“Learning about Cyclewise’s work with Active Cumbria and with Cumbrian primary schools – and hearing about the difference they make – was inspirational and reinforced the importance of cycle training for every child.”

“It was clear she shared our passion to get more people on bikes and shared her exciting plans to help make this happen.
