Trudy has praised the partnership working and services on offer at Millom Network Centre.
Trudy was invited to visit the charity to see the progress made since its relocation to Devonshire Road, and to meet the staff, volunteers and service users.
Trudy was given a demonstration from participants on the upcycling course - whose products will be on sale from the centre’s Newton Street shop when it reopens on March 21 - and from the Millom STEM Club, where children from Black Combe Junior School were taking part in fun science activities.
She also met tenant Jan Costello, who offers holistic therapy from the centre, and had the chance to view the produce and flowers being grown by volunteer gardeners.
Trudy said: “It was a pleasure to visit Millom Network Centre to meet everyone and to learn more about all the great work that is taking place.
“The centre is a real community hub, providing vital services and partnership working all under one roof.”
Sue Dust, Office Manager, said: “We were proud to welcome Trudy to present to her the progress the entire Millom Network Centre team, under the guidance of our amazing CEO Angela Dixon, has achieved.
“We’d like to thank two of our Trustees, Janette Yates and Tom McCafferty, for their attendance and support, along with our volunteers who all prove just why our community charity is so special and has the Millom community at its heart.”
