Trudy has hailed Whitehaven’s £5m Bus Station project a ‘tremendous development’ during a trial evening today.
Trudy Harrison MP was invited along for a tour of the town’s latest development which is made up of fifty coworking spaces, ten offices, four meeting rooms and a restaurant.
Following the tour, Trudy was able to enjoy samples from the new food and drinks menu in the 125-seater cafe-bar, which is due to open on Tuesday.
Sellafield Ltd invested £5.7 million to kickstart the bus station redevelopment with developer BEC.
Trudy, said: The Bus Station and The Peddler restaurant is a tremendous new development in the heart of Whitehaven. Bringing ideas and engineers together with community and local businesses.
“Well done to everybody has who been involved in delivering this dream. Tonight I was able to enjoy a full tour, which brought back many memories of bus adventures and I trialled the delicious, seasonal and wherever possible, local food available.
“Needless to say, I’ll be back very soon.”
The development, which has been referred to as the Buzz Station throughout its construction, will be known as the Bus Station.
