The Minister for Tourism and Sport paid a visit to Copeland this week to meet with businesses following further easing of lockdown restrictions.
Nigel Huddleston MP and Copeland’s MP, Trudy Harrison met with business owners from Alpacaly Ever After, Wild and Fruitful Preserves and Ladore Falls Hotel, at the Lingholm Estate in Portinscale.
The family owned estate includes 12 luxury self-catering properties, a café and a walled garden, which was the inspiration behind Beatrix Potter’s Mr McGregor’s Garden in the Tale of Peter Rabbit where she spent ten Summer and Autumn holidays.
The visit was led by Cumbria Tourism in recognition of step 2 of the reopening roadmap and provided a platform to talk about the county’s response to coronavirus.
Trudy said: “I was really pleased to introduce the Minister to business owners from Lake District Hotels, and Alpacaly Ever After along with staff from Forestry England’s Whinlatter Forest, all offering exciting, exceptional quality, brilliant experiences, all of who are very much looking forward to welcome everyone back.”
