Trudy has joined ACTion with Communities to support Kind Cumbria Day 2020.
Kind Cumbria Day 2020, launched by ACTion with Communities in Cumbria in 2019 encourages people to think about being kind and getting involved in random acts of kindness.
Throughout the year, ACTion with Communities in Cumbria works with people, communities and businesses across the county to encourage random and planned acts of kindness, culminating with Kind Cumbria Day on the 13th November and a celebration of Kindness.
This year’s campaign, sponsored by Electricity North West is encouraging individuals, community groups, friends, businesses and schools to make pledges of kindness online, or share stories about how people have been kind to them in a bid to create a wave of kindness and show that Cumbria is a really ‘kind’ place to live – the kindest in the UK.
The first Kind Cumbria Day was held in November 2019, to coincide with World Kindness Day.
Trudy said: “Kind Cumbria Day, a celebration of kindness in all its forms is a wonderful initiative helping to spread acts of Kindness throughout Cumbria on not just World Kindness Day but everyday of the year.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, the many incredible acts of kindness shown across my constituency from shopping for isolating friends and family and supporting local businesses to fundraising and checking in on our elderly neighbours, has been inspiring to see.
“Front line workers, community groups, businesses, children and families are all working to support one another during these exceptionally challenging times, and I am looking forward to visiting as many organisations as possible when Lockdown has ended to hear more about their vital work within their communities and to thank them for their selfless acts of kindness.”
