Copeland’s MP is attending an international trade briefing for MPs on the GREAT Britain campaign this week.
The campaign showcases the best of what the UK has to offer and encourages people to visit, do business, invest and study in the UK.
It declares to global investors that the UK is open for business and promotes the strength of the UK as a leading investment and business destination.
Trudy Harrison said: “This fits in exactly with what we are trying to do with tourism and business in Copeland and Cumbria. It is an international promotional campaign, uniting the efforts of the public and private sectors to generate jobs and growth for Britain.”
The campaign was launched in September 2011 in a bid to capitalise on the 2012 London Olympics and provide a £1billion boost for British business. It has a current value of £271million.
It brings together the Department for International Trade, VisitBritain, British Council, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, 17 other government departments and organisations, and hundreds of private sector companies.
The briefing for MPs takes place on Wednesday.
