Discussions surrounding the future of nuclear were the focus of a parliamentary debate between Trudy and a group of nuclear graduates.
Trudy Harrison MP welcomed Energus Nucleargraduates to Westminster for the Nuclear based debate session, which saw the young graduates quiz a panel of experts including the Minster for Energy, Richard Harrington and BEIS representatives.
Other panel members included Head of Policy at the Nuclear Industry Association, Peter Haslam, Ian Streatfield, Advanced Technical & Future RSR Strategy Manager for the Environment Agency and Sarah Wilde, a Nuclear Institute Representative.
The debate session has been held over the past 11 years, and has previously been hosted by Mrs Harrison’s predecessor, Jamie Reed.
Nucleargraduates was launched in 2008 by the NDA providing a unique two-year graduate development programme for young professionals in the nuclear industry, although the programme is now managed by Energus and sponsored by 12 organisations.
Carolyne Dalton, L&D Lead for Nucleargraduates, said: “Nucleargraduates were delighted that Trudy was able to host a nuclear debate in Parliament which was part of the Footprints programme – Power & Influence.
“The graduates devised a variety of nuclear related questions which evoked animated discussion.
“We would like to thank Trudy for her support of the Nucleargraduates programme.”
