Trudy joined parliamentarians from across the House, and organisations from the aviation industry to promote the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Trudy spoke to stakeholders about the benefits of SAF, the fuel which is made from waste products can be blended with normal aviation fuel and could potentially cut carbon by up to 70% over the fuel’s lifecycle. Trudy spoke to stakeholders about working with the Government on creating tens of thousands of new green jobs and proposals to build to 14 SAF production plants in locations from Scotland to Southampton and from Wales to Teesside.
Trudy said: “Whilst there is no airport in Copeland, a more sustainable aviation industry will bring benefits to all.
“As a former Future of Transport Minister, I worked on JetZero and know pioneering industries in our area stand to gain as we decarbonise all transport modes.
"Replacing current aviation fuel with synthetic fuels is an opportunity which the industry is pioneering and promoting in Parliament today.”
