Copeland MP Trudy Harrison was presented with the crest from British Royal Navy ship HMS Biter during the visit to Whitehaven Harbour at the weekend.
The coastal patrol vessel – which supports Royal Navy exercises and training - was open to the public.
Mrs Harrison said: “The British Royal Navy is vital to our safety and security whilst supporting global humanitarian efforts and keeping open world trade routes. The visit was enjoyed by many visitors including Whitehaven Sea Cadets - inspiring the next generation of Naval sea men and women.
“Thanks to Gerard Richardson and the British Royal Navy for inviting me along.”
The ship also provides training to students from Manchester and Salford universities to educate them about the Royal Navy, including navigation, teamwork and leadership. She sailed up from Liverpool and has visited Whitehaven on previous occasions.
