The MP for Copeland joined in the celebrations at Whitehaven Motorcycle Action Group’s 25th birthday bike show on Sunday.
Trudy Harrison joined families and West Cumbria MAG members at Egremont Rugby Union Club for the anniversary event.
The bike show, which followed a rock music night the previous evening, saw past and present MAG members come together to mark the formation of the group 25 years ago.
Proceeds raised during the weekend events were donated to the group’s fighting fund, which helps towards lobbying in Parliament to secure better rights for motorcyclists.
Trudy Harrison, said: “I was delighted to attend Whitehaven Motorbike Action Group’s 25th anniversary bike show last weekend. The show was a wonderful day out with a fantastic turn out and I congratulate the group on this significant milestone.
“I whole heartedly support the biker community in Copeland and beyond so it was great to meet with local motorcyclists and generations of MAG members to hear their stories.”
Whitehaven MAG is a part of a national voluntary organisation (Motorcycle Action Group) which fight’s for riders rights.
Cumbria MAG Regional Rep, Michael Armstrong, said: ""We as Whitehaven MAG would like to thank Trudy Harrison MP for accepting her invite to the celebrations of Whitehaven MAG 25th Anniversary events, as our local group was first formed in 1992. It was great to see Trudy at the bike show on the Sunday talking to local motorcyclists on various issues and concerns.”
MAG is currently calling on all riders in the UK to submit their concerns regarding a London charge which could cost a user of an older moped thousands a year in pollution taxes
Mr Armstrong, added: “I was encouraged that Trudy was also interested in wanting to know about national issues facing motorcyclists i.e. London's Ultra Low Emissions Zone and the increase of the level of moped thief and the crimes against the riders.”
