Copeland MP Trudy Harrison is supporting Dream Placement 2020 which gives young people exciting development opportunities.
Students from across Copeland and Cumbria have the opportunity to become part of a dynamic initiative designed to create a future workforce for the county’s top companies and equip them with the skills, experience and contacts to carry them through further education, university, their first job and beyond.
The scheme also offers 16-18 year olds a week long placement with a company or organisation over February half-term.
It is organised and delivered by the Centre for Leadership Performance and the closing date to apply is October 28.
Almost 200 students are expected to apply and the Copeland MP is one of up to 30 organisations set to offer Dream Placements.
Mrs Harrison said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to take part in a structured and focused scheme which gives them access to working with employers and to help them make decisions about their future careers. As well as work experience, they receive feedback and learn how to promote themselves and their key qualities. I look forward to working with the Centre for Leadership Performance once again.”
A panel made up of representatives from education and business will select up to 100 students to go forward to the Selection Day event at Energus on Thursday, December 5.
